Where Vision Meets Craft: The Country Blinds Project
The challenge:
An engaging ad that clearly shows the product and service while staying enjoyable to watch.
In 2025 Frankie Films, an Adelaide visual effects studio, created the aforementioned television commercial. Country Blinds is a custom window furnishing business operated from its facility in Mt Barker.
The project covered the full commercial video production process from concept and scripting through to filming and post production. Shot with a RED KOMODO 6K, the crew applied controlled interior lighting and used professional boom recorded audio to create a clean, natural look. This resulted in a warm, home environment look rather than a glossy showroom feel, which was the intention.
The finished home services advertisement aired across the Nine Network ecosystem including HBO Max, Stan, and 9Now, easily reaching tens of thousands of audiences across Australia.

The creative direction for this commercial leaned into gentle humour with its use of the ‘nosey-neighbour’ trope, who eagerly spies on his neighbours receiving their Country Blinds installation. Each time the nosey-neighbour is startled, with hilarious results, when the Country Blinds installer looks his way. This small-comedic narrative produces an ad that feels watchable instead of sales driven.
Everyday situations carry the marketing message while the product sits naturally in the background, leaving viewers with a warm impression of the brand and a commercial viewers can look forward to watching each time.
